Gears Of War: Reloaded Announced and Expected to Release August 26th
During the Xbox Games Showcase, we were given the announcement for Gears of War: Reloaded in the form of a new in-engine trailer. This announcement came alongside many other huge gaming announcements, like the reveal of the next Call of Duty, Black Ops 7, Super Meat Boy, High on Life, and more hints about Hollow Knight: Silksong.
Gears of War: Reloaded is the second rerelease of Gears of War 1, and this time it is promised to be ‘rebuilt with 4K resolution, up to 120 FPS support, and fully modernised multiplayer.’ I’m not 100% sure what that last part will bring, but we will see soon, as the game has been given a release date of August 26th.
A Closer Look
Alongside the trailer and the release date announcement, we also got some more information about the game in the form of an Xbox Games Showcase Deep Dive. During this 15-minute video, we learned that the game’s campaign mode will run at 60FPS while the multiplayer mode will offer framerates up to 120FPS.
We also learned that the game will fully support crossplay. Thankfully, the game won’t require a Microsoft account to play, so even if you’re playing through Steam, there won’t be additional sign-ins. However, you will have to sign in to get full cross-platform functionality.
