The New God of War Has Reportedly Been Delayed and May Arrive on Nintendo Switch 2
Sony is developing several video games, some officially confirmed and others still rumors. Among these rumored projects is a new God of War game, which has been speculated to be in development for some time.
This is not a new entry in the main series, but rather a minor title with a Metroidvania style that is expected to take us back to Greece. Rumors do not reveal much else, nor do they clarify when it will be officially unveiled, but the latest reports suggest we might have to wait a bit longer.
Latest Details About the New God of War
According to well-known journalist Jeff Grubb, this new God of War has reportedly been delayed until 2026, similar to what happened with Marathon. However, it’s important to note that, for now, we do not know whether Bungie’s shooter will actually be released in 2026, as the team has not confirmed an official release date. While it’s credible, this detail should still be treated as a rumor.
Returning to the new God of War, Grubb suggests it could be among Sony’s games that will also arrive on Nintendo Switch 2, along with Marathon.
The God of War Metroidvania has not yet been confirmed by Sony, but the rumors are becoming more persistent. Reports also claim that the game will not feature Kratos, but instead Deimos, the son of Ares and Aphrodite.
